Welcome to Grace
Grace Community Church is affiliated with the
Baptist Convention of Iowa.
Making disciples of our neighbors, the nations and the next generation in radical Christian love.
I wanted to give you a peek into children's ministries at Grace. Nursery and Children's Church are wonderful ways to disciple the youngest people in the next generation, as well as get to know them and their parents.
Each week around 20 kids, ages 4-10 gather to pray, read God's Word, and explore questions like why bad things happen, how we know the Bible is true, what sin is, and why God made mosquitoes. As we adults learn to "Eat This Book," the kids are also learning what a wonderful and special gift God's Word is.
We are currently studying a book called "Who is Jesus?" which connects the dots of various stories and aspects of the Old and New Testaments with the truth of the good news of Jesus. The kids are seeing that God is always in control and has plans for every aspect of our lives. It is so exciting to see God working in their young hearts!
If you are interested in volunteering to teach or help in Children's Church, or nursery with the 0-3 year olds, let me know. It is a fun and exciting way to serve God and your church family, and to connect with many of the individuals and families at Grace!

Please continue to pray for Rick Gustafson as he begins treatment for liver cancer. May he and Vicki be wrapped in God's love during this time of uncertainty.
Pray for those who were displaced in the apartment fire this past week. Pray that they will be able to return to their homes soon, for peace, the physical energy to handle the next steps in whatever is next, and for the provision of any resources they may need.
Join us on October 18th from 11am-4pm at Steve and Anne Darby's for fun afternoon on the farm! We will have hot dogs and a fire but please bring a side and/or dessert to share!
We will have some fun games and opportunity to earn some fun prizes! Please register so we know how many hot dogs to make.
If you are new(ish) to Grace and would like more information about who we are and how to get involved, we would love to have you attend this event! Pastor Tim and Pastor Ben will be there. This is a great chance for them to get to you know and you to get to know them. Please RSVP so we have enough pizza!
Starting in September: Specialty Coffee Drink of the Month in the Fireside Room Coffee Bar
September will feature an Iced Strawberry Latte! (Suggested Donation $1-2)
We are organizing efforts for minor repairs, upkeep, and maintenance tasks around the church and grounds. An all-church work day is planned for Saturday, October 3 from 9-1. Much of the work on our list will be completed that day. Some maintenance projects will be scheduled in advance. Do you have skills you are willing to share? Fill out this form, and we will contact you to set up a schedule!
Join us for a marriage conference that aims to help you break free from the “dysfunctional dance” while helping you build life-giving rhythms and practical tools.
But don't just let it end there! Get a baby sitter, a hotel room or ship the kids off to grandma's for the night of November 6th and 7th to allow yourselves time for deeper connection and conversation that will be brought up in this video course.
The course will be based off of the book "The Fight for Us" by Rebekah and Gabe Lyons but you will also hear from some local couples about their marriage experiences.
Please see "How to Video for Church Center" to learn how to navigate and share information within Church Center with other Grace Church members and attenders. If you haven't already, please watch the short video hosted by Katie Darby.

Triangle Discipleship Groups
Become a Member at Grace
Check the linktree for more information on these opportunities. We send a weekly email full of information, including small groups, bible studies, and ways to get plugged in. If you aren’t getting it and would like to, please contact the church office!
The 4+2 Supper Club at Grace is a fun and easy way to get to know more people at Grace! Rotations change every month, where you are matched with a different couple in the church. One couple hosts and makes the main dish. The other couple brings a side dish. Plan a date for dinner that works for all, then invite 2 more people to join you as guests.
Tap the button below to be added to the rotation. If you have any questions or would like to try it out as a guest sometime, please contact Robin Smith at 515-298-0678.
A Discipleship Triangle is a group of three Christians who meet weekly to read God’s Word
obediently (Matt. 7:24–27), pray fervently (James 5:16), and bear burdens (Gal. 6:1–5).
Triangles provide a context for disciples of Jesus to have true fellowship with God
and one another by walking in the light and practicing the truth. It's our vision at Grace that
every church member be an integral part of a triangle that encourages them to grow in their faith, pursue specific acts of obedience, and actively battle sin.
They consist of 2-4 people (same gender) who meet weekly. Click the link below to find out more, or talk to Pastor Ben.

Year-to-date Giving: $272,770
Children are always welcome to stay with you in the service, but here are options:
Nursery: Available for children ages 0-3 on the north side of the building. Drop your child/ren off any time between 9:20-11:45. Please make sure to sign in and leave some information about your child.
Children’s Church: Children ages 4-4th grade stay with you in service until they are dismissed for Children’s Church. This takes place in the youth room, and kids have their own church service with singing, prayer, offering, and a lesson. Children may be picked up at the conclusion of the service or can remain in the room until after Sunday School. Children will not be dismissed unless an adult is there to pick them up.
Parent/Child room: Parents can take their children here for a quiet space to calm down during the service. This room is not staffed, but feel free to use it if that is the best option for your child. This room will have the service livestreamed, and it is right next door to the nursery.
Nursing Room: Available Sunday mornings from 9-12. It is across the hall from the nursery. This room will also have the service livestreamed.
Note: All of our childcare staff over the age of 18 have been through Ministry Safe training. We will always have 2 adults in each room.
